Soccer

Soccer, known as football in most countries outside North America, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players on a rectangular field with a goal at each end. The objective of the game is to score by getting a ball into the opposing team’s goal. Players primarily use their feet to control and propel the ball, but they may also use other parts of their bodies, except for their hands and arms, unless they are the designated goalkeeper. The game is governed by the Laws of the Game, which are maintained by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). Soccer is the world’s most popular sport, with millions of fans and players globally, and it is associated with numerous international tournaments, the most prominent being the FIFA World Cup. The sport emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and skill, making it a dynamic and widely played game.
