Košarka

Košarka, or basketball, is a team sport in which two teams, typically consisting of five players each, compete to score points by shooting a ball through the opposing team’s elevated hoop. The game is played on a rectangular court with a hoop at each end. Points are scored by making field goals, which are worth two or three points depending on the player’s distance from the hoop, as well as free throws, which are worth one point. The game emphasizes skills such as shooting, dribbling, passing, and defense. Originating in the United States in the late 19th century, basketball has grown to become one of the most popular sports worldwide, governed by various leagues and organizations including the NBA (National Basketball Association) in the U.S. and FIBA (International Basketball Federation) internationally.
